algocracy

Algorithm warfare is literally everywhere nowadays yet most people haven’t got the slightest idea what is going on or what they are being exposed to.

Most of us can relate to Allan Weisbecker’s example of how Yahoo mail served him an ‘associated’ advertisement when one day he mentioned “walking the dog” as he wrote an email.

“This one came up as I was signing ‘allan.’

Coincidence? Pu-lease. My point is the lightning speed with which Yahoo’s algorithm worked. Like two seconds was all it took to analyze ‘walking the dog’ then nail me with a dog-related ad – what shocked me was the speed, considering all the cyber-details that had to go through the system. This is what Yahoo uses on a casual daily basis. Imagine the algorithm NSA has grinding away at Fort Meade, to keep track of what you’re thinking and doing.”

“… The reality is that the gap between mainstream and alternative media outlets has artificially been reduced by co-opting the alternative media and their audiences. Countless examples of this exist. At least 9 out of 10 alt media outlets are pretty much carbon copies of each other and have during the last 5 years been putting their weight behind government policies that would have been exposed and debunked years earlier.

For instance, the false war on islam terror is widely accepted now by guys like Alex Jones, Steve Quayle and Doug Hagmann. All of them are also buying into and spreading other zionist scams, lies and propaganda fluff. For sure these characters are the best of all to put on mainstream news broadcasts – where they belong. They go into suicidal funks when they can parrot Netanyahu’s insane waffling.

The conditioning was, it now seems, planned to climax all along when a type like Trump came into the White House. It is also at this very moment that all of this is being suggested right as zionist puppet Trump is “reshaping” the press room in Washington. How convenient. Likely the NSA algorithms didn’t see this one coming. Riiiight….

Shockingly, well – not really, Hodges’ suggestions are greatly welcomed by his following, when we observe the feedback he gets for it.

Well folks, wish Dave Hodges good luck. Wish him a fruitful career at CNN, ABC or NBC because that’s where he is planning to apply.

It looks like they have come full circle at the transparent alternative media. What once was a platform or niche for alleged dissent has now officially turned into a mergers and acquisitions business model…..”

Hierarchical Temporal Memory algorithms for understanding asymmetric warfare

Conference Paper:  (PDF Available) April 2009

Abstract

There is a problem in combat modeling when it comes to accurately representing asymmetric warfare. The roots of this problem stem from the ways in which warfare has evolved over the last century from force-on-force combat to the network-centric warfare (NCW) that has emerged today in its most exemplary fashion in the Middle East, especially in the context of Joint Urban Operations (JUO). Therefore, this paper focuses on some of the previous attempts as a means to motivate the need for a new technique that understands the interactions on which an accurate representation of NCW rests. Given the difficulties of previous modeling attempts, this work then focuses on the profound impact that human behavior has on the modeling of NCW. Furthermore, with such attention to human behavior, the discussion of modeling NCW shifts to the human brain and its impact on behavior in such an environment. Thus the topic of this paper turns towards what results from neuroscience are useful for understanding NCW and how those facts can be translated into use on modern computers, via the use of hierarchical temporal memory (HTM) algorithms; finally, the inherent issues with such a task shall then be discussed.

Algorithm warfare is a very complex topic that needs to be introduced to the world, not the least due to the present and future dangers that it poses.

Algorithm warfare includes more than just the deployment of analytical, defensive and conditioning or offensive (hostile) algorithms by commercial entities and government agencies. It is also about constantly creating floods of fresh mineable data; analyzing, exploiting and manipulating financial markets, perceptions and public opinions; and the eventual creation and deployment of self-perpetuating loops of algorithmic artificial intelligences that can steer a planetary populace on autopilot.

Although the basic concept of algorithms is understood by the general public, the advances and potential capabilities in the field are far less understood. It is therein that the dangers lay.

In our introductory articles [1, 2, 3, 4] the concept of algorithm warfare has already been explained with practical examples but a clear overview of who and what the major players are for instance, who the centerpieces are if you will, had yet to be created.

This page will also serve that purpose, to list those involved directly and indirectly. The longer the list becomes the clearer the bigger picture will become on where algorithm warfare is coming from and where it is heading.

“Psychological warfare (PSYWAR), or the basic aspects of modern psychological operations (PSYOP), have been … used “to denote any action which is practiced mainly by psychological methods with the aim of evoking a planned psychological reaction in other people.”

Various techniques are used, and are aimed at influencing a target audience’s value system, belief system, emotions, motives, reasoning, or behavior

It is used to induce confessions or reinforce attitudes and behaviors favorable to the originator’s objectives, and are sometimes combined with black operations or false flag tactics.

It is also used to destroy the morale of enemies through tactics that aim to depress troops’ psychological states.

Target audiences can be governments, organizations, groups, and individuals, and is not just limited to soldiers.

Civilians of foreign territories can also be targeted by technology and media so as to cause an effect in the government of their country…..”

This article was published by Jeff Gates for Foreign Policy Journal on August 28, 2009.  It was included on the IRIS website because it provides a perspective that is completely in line with their algorithm warfare sensitization campaigns and it explains an aspect of it from a specific point of view that interlocks with our previous report titled “Israeli Intelligence Deploys New ‘Anti-Semitism’ Identification System“.

http://ir-is.org/2017/01/23/algorithm-warfare-how-israel-wages-game-theory-warfare/

“… Israeli game theorists operate not from the Center for Morality or the Center for Justice but from the Center for Rationality. As modeled by Zionist war planners, game theory is devoid of all values except one: the ability to anticipate—within an acceptable range of probabilities—how “the mark” will react when provoked. Thus we see the force-multiplier potential for those who wage war with well-planned provocations and well-timed crises.

Israeli behavior is often immoral and unjust but that does not mean it is irrational. For Colonial Zionists committed to the pursuit of an expansionist agenda, even murderous provocations are rational because the response can be mathematically modeled, ensuring the results are reasonably foreseeable. That alone is sufficient for a people who, as God’s chosen, consider it their right to operate above the rule of law.”

[&&]{**}[##]

“… already points to a future in which intelligence-gathering, assessment and military action, including the calculation of who can legally be killed, will largely be performed by machines based upon an ever-expanding database of aggregated information. As such, this transition to execution by algorithm is not simply a continuation of killing at ever greater distances inaugurated by the invention of the bow and arrow that separated warrior and foe, as many have suggested. [3] It is also a consequence of the ongoing automation of warfare, which can be traced back to the cybernetic coupling of Claude Shannon’s mathematical theory of information with Norbert Wiener’s wartime research into feedback loops and communication control systems. [4] As this new era of intelligent weapons systems progresses, operational control and decision-making are increasingly being outsourced to machines…..”

“…. When one poses the question, under what conditions is it morally acceptable to deliberately kill a human being, one is not, in this case, asking whether the law permits such an act for reasons of imminent threat, self-defence or even empathy for someone who is in extreme pain or in a non-responsive vegetative state. The moral register around the decision to kill operates according to a different ethical framework: one that doesn’t necessarily bind the individual to a contract enacted between the citizen and the state. Moral positions can be specific to individual values and beliefs whereas legal frameworks permit actions in our collective name as citizens contracted to a democratically elected body that acts on our behalf but with which we might be in political disagreement. ….”

JANUARY 19, 2016

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the most expensive weapons program ever, won’t justify its price tag by outmaneuvering other jets (it can’t), flying particularly fast, or even by carrying munitions in a stealthy bomb bay. Instead, the U.S. military is banking on an emerging technology called cognitive electronic warfare to give the jet an almost-living ability to sniff out new hard-to-detect air defenses and invent ways to foil them on the fly.

While the specifics of the jet’s electronic warfare, or EW, package remain opaque, scientists, program watchers and military leaders close to the program say it will be key to the jet’s evolution and its survival against the future’s most advanced airplane-killing technology. In short, cognitive EW is the most important feature on the world’s most sophisticated warplane…..

Read “interaction” in that context to mean the critical moment when an adversary, perhaps a single lowly radar operator, detects a U.S. military aircraft on a covert operation. That moment of detection is the sort of world-changing event that happens, literally, in the blink of an eye.

Just before the study came out, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, established the Adaptive Radar Countermeasures program to “enable U.S. airborne EW systems to automatically generate effective countermeasures against new, unknown and adaptive radars in real-time in the field.”

The goal: EW software that can perceive new waveforms and attacks as quickly and as clearly as a living being can hear leaves rustle or see a predator crouching in the distance, then respond creatively to the threat: can I outrun that? Can I fight it? Should I do anything at all? It’s a problem of artificial intelligence: creating a living intelligence in code….”

Algocracy

Posted May 23, 2015 by Danny Crichton (@DannyCrichton), Contributor

“… Algorithms are not just determining who lives, but also who dies. The Defense Department, taking advantage of incredible advancements in autonomous technologies, is increasingly advocating for self-flying drones. The hope is that machine learning and better algorithms can reduce the human error in drone-based assassinations, potentially allowing these technologies to make the decision to shoot without human intervention.

Ever since the development of computers in the mid–20th century, algorithms have been used to increase business efficiency. Today, algorithms run our world. UPS and FedEx use algorithms to optimize the routes of its drivers, Procter & Gamble and Walmart use learning algorithms to ensure that sufficient products are on store shelves, and banks use algorithms not only for securities trading but also to predict cash flows…..”

“… There is an objective quality about the computer that is lacking in a human being, even though they are both ultimately political. It is just that the human seems political at the time the decision is made, while the algorithm was political when it was designed and implemented…..”

“… There is a belief that moving such decisions away from humans and into the machine-learning black box is the solution to many of our political problems. That is precisely wrong. We aren’t avoiding the politics of our decisions, but rather giving up human agency itself to allow the computer to make it for us. This is the fundamental difference between first and second generation algorithms.

Developing policies in our society is the forcing function to ensure that we come together, debate, and ultimately work toward a usable consensus on how we want our government to function. The more we give up on those sorts of arenas for debate, the more we will increasingly find that our society simply cannot work together whatsoever.

Algocracy?

Algorithms will not save us. They cannot make the decisions we have to make any easier, and in fact, can massively increase the level of polarization that takes place in our country. Using an algorithm in immigration to predict economic performance may sound like a way to avoid a hard debate about immigration, but that is precisely why it is so dangerous. Who exactly do we want to allow into our country? Computer code can’t make us content…..

I still believe that when the algorithms themselves are part of the political debate, we can increase the efficiency of government while also improving the lives of citizens.

Ultimately, we live with each other in a human society. We should never give up our seat at the table in order to allow the algorithms to just do their work. The data we allow them to use and the models we allow them to calculate should all be areas where humans have a voice. Our politicians need to see the algorithm as where politics is increasingly centered, and engage with them accordingly.”

landscape gardening (with new addenda)

 landscape gardening

I guess it’s a fantasy of mine, perhaps a quixotic aspect of my inexorable aging, that some form of collaborative effort could address the issues noted in the articles noted in this blog entry and the comments I added after I posted it.

They describe the recent (and ongoing?) battles between entrenched ideologies, mainstream media and the alternative media with regard to truth, truthiness, and fake news.

I wrote to a few people about this idea and thought I’d write to a few more, but I decided to write this blog entry and then send them a link.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crkbFnAIz7U

Pat Bitautas – Drums

Tom Tallman – Flugelhorn

Rich Moore – Tenor Saxophone

My creeping paranoia tells me that Google saw to it that my e-mails were never delivered; my more realistic sense tells me that the recipients have been busy and pre-occupied with work, health, life and their own priorities, or perhaps that they were not quite ready to take on an entrenched authority that quite obviously has no problem killing people. I understand; such courage is difficult to summon.

I envisioned (fantasized about) some means of communicating across time and distance with an online meeting, symposium or teleconference that was devoted to strengthening the alternative media. (There are lots of technologies, including our own inherent ability to project thought to other people located far away.)

There are probably several sub-sets of “breakouts” in some form of larger “meeting” that involve teaching and learning discernment, or how to tell “crap” from 18-karat fact and insight, or how to determine the validity, veracity and verifiability of information and sources.

My own “crap detector” (as Hemingway called it) has been through a great deal on the last fifteen years and is probably due for some “detailing” and re-buffing. But I’ve assembled and posted files on information warfare and a lot of related topics. I’m a grizzle (or maybe grisly) veteran with scars, stripes, and a commendation or two.

I mused about a group process that would not get bogged down, as so many do and have, in inertia, minutiae, interference or apathy, or become vulnerable to destruction from inside or outside.

What I dreamt about (and be careful, for last night I dreamt about forgetting to go to an important job interview, though I’ve been disabled/retired for almost a decade) was the crossroads of investigative journalism, reality, high perception or awareness, and rhizomatic progression.

http://www.riponlandscapes.co.uk/images/laying-turf600.jpg

I saw an organized approach by many to

  • develop a multi-media library that would teach about known methods of dissimulation, propaganda, information warfare, mind control, et al.;
  • build a toolchest that would enable individuals, groups and organizations to learn about methods used in legal research, archival research, and investigative journalism;
  • create a living database of media outlets that was fed by a cloud of information about their validity, authenticity, transparency and accountability.

I envisioned a process by which more and more people could get together to talk about and learn informational technologies, cybersecurity, media production skills, new methods for information dissemination (ex.: live-streaming), etc.

http://www.dfwchild.com/images/features/fw%20garden%20web%201.jpg

I envisoned a gathering that featured guest appearances by people like Wayne Madsen, Jon Rappaport, Kris Millegan, Joachim Hagopian, Wendy Painting (lonewolf research), and others. A list needs to be built of who has this kind of expertise so we can tap it, reward it, and replicate it. You can start by doing a search for tools for journalistic verification, and finding organizations devoted to the development of investigative journalists.

https://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/02/ba/92/fb/coastal-maine-botanical.jpg

I envisioned a process and an organization that would direct, nurture and nourish this on an ongoing basis.

We could call it the society of truth horticulture; it’s a form of landscape gardening.

engineering human evolution

engineering human evolution

Several weeks ago, a book about recipes for summoning demons and the agendas of those who practice alchemy arrived on my doorstep.

Music:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs-23ALB_Tw

It was an explanation by several advanced students of deep theologies of the depths and depravities of attempts to improve the human condition by radically modifying and tinkering with the human condition.

Such experiments and theories, the authors explain, are apparently as old as the ages and show up dominantly in the hidden depths.  They are also present, though large hidden on purpose from our view, in today’s society and culture.  Like most of Joseph Farrell’s books, this is not light reading. Some call this kind of stuff alternative history, but that’s a kind brushing aside of the importance of the deep research that has been done and which he brings to the surface. On the timeline of history, Farrell and his co-author go way way back in order to help you see the trends into the future.  I highly commend the book to your bookshelf so that you may peer into the past, but I am going to zero in on a phrase or term he used on page 136 and discussed for another six or seven pages as the vehicle to assist you in seeing more clearly what’s happening right now and what it’s implications are for the future. [See also http://www.lulu.com/shop/joseph-p-farrell-and-scott-d-de-hart/dialogues-1-transhumanism-in-dialogue/paperback/product-21238670.html ]

Farrell was brought to my attention because I regularly read the blog over at the Solari Project, Catherine Austin Fitts’ private enterprise that teaches people to see and track where the money goes. I got very interested in what Fitts had to say after I’d read her on the topic of 9/11 (she was saying “follow the money” before all the dust had settled in Manhattan), on the topic of narcodollars, and most notably her treatise on the politics of the recent past known as Dunwalke.  As part of her development work, she once hired me to help her think through the possibilities of developing a board game, maybe a latter-day version of Monopoly in which people could see how bankers and others extracted financial value from a community and to teach them how to spend, act and shape their own home towns in an assertive and protective manner.  I failed that assignment though she paid me the $500 fee anyway, and I turned that money into a life-changing trip down the backside of the Appalachian ridge where I discovered much. She however went on more deeply into Solari Circles, the “Coming Clean” campaign and has since worked with others (including Farrell)  to to track covert budgets, an effort that gets updated under the term “Space-based Economy”.

The concept of a breakaway civilization is discussed on page 147 in Farrell’s “Transhumanism”, but we really need to step back at least one or two steps for the idea of a “breakaway civilization” comes into focus.

It’s the section of the book that runs from page 135 to 147 that will form the fuel of this blog entry.

The key phrase in particular?: The “GRIN technologies”. I was skimming when I encountered that and immediately went back to find the first reference: what are the GRIN technologies? The acronym stands for Genetic, Robotic, Information, and Nanotechnology.

Genetic technologies, the manipulation by humans of an organism’s genome, have exploded onto the scene in the fields of medicine, food, warfare, the development of laboratory chimera.

Robotics are transforming industry and warfare, aeronautics and space travel, health services including surgery, terrestrial and extra-terrestrial exploration and mining, and in the home environment.

Information technologies have been with us for decades and are now foreseen within a digital revolution including “algorithms, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, statistical probability matrices and” the acceleration of learning, the “smartness” inherent in the “evolving nexus of forces” (‘clouds’, social, mobile and information all coming together). “Desktop” has given way to ‘smart’ phones, androids, pads,  and similar devices and social media wherein information will become a commodity like electricity. Learning about data mining has been a growth industry for years.

Nanotechnology is, according to Wikipedia, the “manipulation of matter on an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale”. “Nanotechnology as defined by size is naturally very broad, including fields of science as diverse as surface science, organic chemistry, molecular biology, semiconductor physics, microfabrication, molecular engineering, etc.”

… While the international transhumanist movement has existed for decades, it’s been growing like wildfire in the last 18 months. Media coverage of transhumanism has tripled in the last year according to the Institute of Ethics and Emerging Technologies. Transhumanism is featured in a number of recent blockbuster Hollywood movies, including Transcendence, Lucy, and Oscar-winning Her. And a younger generation—many in high school and college—appear to be embracing it….

http://motherboard.vice.com/read/transhumanist-a-conspiracy-theory-problem

If your brain can’t get its synapses around the convergence of these four concepts/technologies, then you surely can understand the concept of a “breakaway civilization” and the fact that some current corporations and governments will work very hard to inform, educate, train and harness financial and other energies and to prevent others from knowing about them and what the powers that be are doing and plan to do with them. That’s why you should be interested in what Fitts and Farrell have to say. The powers that be hasten to effect their escape, leaving the less-fortunate, the not-wealthy, the less informed, the “useless eaters”, to face a world that they have set on a course toward self-destruction.

In Neal Stephenson’s 2015 novel Seveneves, survivors of a worldwide holocaust are tasked with seeding new life on a dormant Earth. Rather than create specific breeds of animals to be hunters, scavengers, or prey, species like “canids” are developed with mutable epigenetic traits, with the intention that the animals would quickly transform into the necessary roles that would be required for an ecosystem to rapidly evolve. Additionally, a race of humans, “Moirans,” are created to survive in space, with the hope that this subspecies of human would be able to adapt to unforeseeable dangers and circumstances, via an epigenetic process called “going epi”.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epigenetics

Two important references noted by Farrell and de Hart in their book are Joel Garreau’s Radical Evolution: The Promise and Peril of Enhancing Our Minds, Our Bodies — and What It Means to be Human, and Ray Kurzweil’s The Singularity is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology.

Garreau notes that the GRIN technologies overlap and intermingle to create a “curve of change unlike anything we humans have ever seen and that each of them, taken individually, are transformative and “each hold the potential to change human nature itself.”  Farrell and de Hart cite Kurzweil when they say that “taken together, or engineered or employed in various combinations, the transformation is even more sweeping”; it is alchemical.

The target, says Garreau, is the very essence of man’s nature. “The goal is to seamlessly merge mind and machine, engineering human evolution so as to directly project and amplify the power of our thoughts throughout the universe.”

Are you a transhumanist?  Take the test here:

http://indiafuturesociety.org/transhumanist-take-test/

The leading transhumanist might once have been thought to be Ray Kurzweil, computer scientist, inventor and futurist involved in fields such as optical character recognition (OCR), text-to-speech synthesis, speech recognition technology, and electronic keyboard instruments. He has written books on health, artificial intelligence (AI), transhumanism, the technological singularity, and futurism. Says Wikipedia: “Kurzweil is a public advocate for the futurist and transhumanist movements, and gives public talks to share his optimistic outlook on life extension technologies and the future of nanotechnology, robotics, and biotechnology…. Kurzweil has authored seven books, five of which have been national bestsellers. The Age of Spiritual Machines has been translated into 9 languages and was the #1 best-selling book on Amazon in science. Kurzweil’s book The Singularity Is Near was a New York Times bestseller, and has been the #1 book on Amazon in both science and philosophy…. He maintains the news website KurzweilAI.net …. he is quoted in the documentary Transcendent Man as saying that the household always produced discussions about the future and technology…. In December 2012, Kurzweil was hired by Google in a full-time position to “work on new projects involving machine learning and language processing”. … Kurzweil’s book, How to Create a Mind: The Secret of Human Thought Revealed, was released on Nov. 13, 2012.”

But Ray isn’t running for President under the banner of the transhumanist party; that honor goes to Zoltan Istvan, “an American journalist[2] and transhumanist. He writes transhumanist-themed columns: “The Transhumanist Philosopher” a blog for Psychology Today and “Transhumanist Future” for Vice’s Motherboard. He has also worked as a reporter for the National Geographic Channel and is a blogger of futurist, transhumanist, and atheist topics for The Huffington Post.  He is the author of The Transhumanist Wager, a philosophical science fiction novel….”

Note the backgrounds and histories of both Kurzweil and Istvan and their self-proclaimed spiritual/religious identities, as well as their personal perspectives and approaches to immortality.

“… the ultimate goal of transhumanism is nothing less than the scientific and technological reversal of the Tower of Babel Moment of History, of The Fall of Man, and the alchemical ascent back up the scala caeli, the ladder to heaven…. The implications of this are … breathtaking.  At the head of the list is the alchemical fusion of man and mineral in the form of implanted computer chips to “enhance” the abilities of humans to interface directly with computers…. Any human being — a microcosm — will be capable of becoming a macrocosm, of literally stretching out to control [something millions of miles away.]. The next step is toward true computer-enhanced telepathy and interface…, to seamlessly merge mind and machine, engineering human evolution so as to to directly project and amplify the power of thought throughout the universe.” [page 138, Farrell and de Hart]

It is, according to Kurzweil, tantamount to reverse-engineering the human brain. “Indeed, as he points out, the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, based in Munich, has already engineered a computer chip that allows human neurons to be grown on a computer chip, directly interfacing with it, [as well as] technologies that allow it to detect when specific neurons are fired [and] allow them to cause or prevent certain neurons from firing, in short, to modify human consciousness and behavior directly via computer implants.” [page 139, Farrell and de Hart]

In the transhumanist theory, the world-wide web will become a super-brain or super-consciousness long ago envisioned by Nicola Tesla. “[H]ow does one maintain one’s individuality and freedom in such a world, given the ability of these technologies to directly modify memory, behavior, and individual consciousness? [See BoyDownTheLane.com/metabolization.] And who will be the “system administrators” and “operators” in this brave new world? What is being engineered, in other words, is literally the technological version of the corporate person, where it is no longer a legal metaphor, but a technological reality, a single “distributed and interconnected brain…”. The referenced source is the National Science Foundation and the US Department of Commerce [where Penny Pritzker is the chief]. [The book notes the afore-mentioned Garreau book which in turn references Converging Technologies for Improving Human Performance [http://www.wtec.org/ConvergingTechnologies/Report/NBIC_report.pdf ]as well as Gregory Stock’s Redesigning Humans and Metaman.]

The potential military applications are discussed by Farrell and de Hart, especially DARPA’s Continuous Assisted Performance component of their “super-soldier” program, on page 141 through 143. The mission brief of the Defense Sciences Office, described as the DARPA inside DARPA, a coordinating think tank not unlike those used by Nazi Germany, a “secret community of interaction between scientists secretly investigating radical concepts”, in some senses a “breakway civilization” itself, the enhanced isolated from the rest of us, is this: The elite engineered group of new humans will be able to think faster an more creatively, have near-photographic memories, read books with total recall and comprehension in minutes, repair their own bodies and maintain peak health, live longer, require less sleep, and communicate more quickly with greater clarity to allow coordinated action in shorter time periods.

Three scenarios are envisioned [page 145]  in the long run:

  1. The “Heaven” scenario, in which the emerging technologies portend a being and blissful future of longevity, of work as play, of sweeping extensions of human group consciousness not only globally but on a cosmic scale;
  2. The “Hell” scenario, in which the same technologies lead humanity to a cart strophic end, due to accidental leaks of deadly viruses, or cataclysmic wars utilizing new weapons, or through simple inability of human society and humans to cope with the sweeping changes as old institutions break down under th technological weight, and crumble into anarchy;
  3. The “Prevail” scenario is, as might be expected, a mixture of the previous twp, full of promise, to be sure, but also of reverses and setbacks, until ultimately, humanity makes choices regarding the technologies, and “muddles through”.

There is much much more in the book; I highly recommend your reading it and/or learning as much as possible as soon as possible about its topics.

I’ve left this in autoplay: there are two documentaries which follow totaling 80 minutes.

Here’s a map showing “the locations (by zipcode) of companies, universities, government laboratories, and organizations working in nanotechnology around the United States.”

Information technologies will not be covered in detail here; you could probably make your own list, starting with the NSA, including IBM, Apple, et al.  If you need further help, here’s Fortune’s list for 2015.

What are the psychic, cognitive and spiritual energies for scientific development of transhumanism?

A slow and reading of Transhumanism by Farrell and de Hart will give you the deep history from past millennia.  I would also recommend the books by Antony C. Sutton and the edited tome by Kris Millegan on Skull & Bones, as well as Terry Melanson’s detailed and footnoted book called “Perfectibilists”. Jonathan Moreno’s book “Mindwars” is noted in “Alarumed” below under Further Reading.

Who provided the venture capital? Other than business off-shoots created by the CIA, you’ll likely find billionaire transhumanists who are into eugenics, starting with the Rockefellers, and Bill Gates, the very rich fellow who climbed to the top of the information technology heap.

I don’t have a list of the definitive and unbleached histories of the Rockefellers and others of their era and ilk, but the reading list at the bottom of a llong excerpt from Eustace Mullins’ book “Murder by Injection” also notes Tarbell, Coleman, Sutton and others.  Here is Chapter ten of that book: http://fr.bio.medecine.narkive.com/pfIwt9hY/murder-by-injection-the-rockefeller-syndicate

According to Wikipedia, transhumanism is sometimes abbreviated as H+ or h+.

doing reverse psy-op

I have been building on a concept expressed by Bernie Suarez here: I have been straddling the matrix. I have one foot back in the research I did for alarumed — on what others may be doing to you, in particularly zeroing in on the themes of viral receptor mapping, genetic modification, and programmable behavior as explained by the mythical Dr. Marta Shearing in the film The Bourne Legacy — and I have the other foot looking for a place to firmly plant itself amidst the research I am doing to extend the concepts expressed in my e-book called “Summon the Magic” whose excerpts suggest strongly that you can program your own mind. At least one person agrees that you can create a firewall in your own mind and body against the intrusions of others.

My recent reading has dominantly zeroed in on the three books by Dr. Joe Dispenza, noted previously in Je Ne Sais Quoi, especially the sixth day of that virtual symposium.

In the second book Breaking the habit of being yourself, he introduces the topic of epigenetics.

I’d just viewed this old two-hour PBS show on the human genome project and a simple search popped up  a number of relevant videos that promised to help me get more centered in my straddling.

I remembered having read something, probably in Quantum Healing: Exploring the Frontiers of Mind/Body Medicine, by Deepak Chopra, M.D. (Bantam New Age Books, 1989), in which this Ayurvedic physician said that our body is a factory made out of bricks in which each brick had the ability to make an entire factory.  Here are two more quotes, also relevant:

“The human body is not an anatomical structure that is fixed in space and time. The human body is more like a river alive with energy, information and intelligence. It has a cybernetic feedback loop and can influence its own evolution and its own expression. It has the ability to learn from mistakes and the ability to make choices.  The human body is an astronomical amount of raw material that comes from everywhere. In the last three weeks, a quadrillion atoms have circulated through our bodies that have circulated through the bodies of every other living species on the planet. We could think of a tree in Africa, a squirrel in Siberia, a peasant in China…. In less than one year, we replace 98% of our physical bodies… a new liver every six weeks, a new skin once a month, a new stomach lining every five days, a new skeleton every three months. The bones that appear so hard, solid and permanent are dynamic structures. Even the DNA, which holds the memories of millions of years of evolution, comes and goes every six weeks. The physical body is recycled elements — recycled earth, water and air — matter in all of its solid, liquid, gaseous and quantum mechanical forms.

Any time I explain the quantum mechanical model to my friends and colleagues, they ask me this question: “If it is really true that the human skeleton replaces itself every three months, then why is the arthritis still there?”

The answer I give is that, through our conditioning, we generate the same impulses of energy and information that lead not only to the same behavioral outcomes but also lead to the same biochemical processes, and that these biochemical processes are under the influence of our consciousness, our memory and our conditioned responses.”

“Quantum Physics and Consciousness”, by Deepak Chopra, M.D., in The Emerging Mind, ed. by Karen Nesbitt Shanor, PhD, Renaissance Books, Los Angeles, CA 1999.

Through the research of Dr. Lipton and other leading-edge scientists, stunning new discoveries have been made about the interaction between your mind and body and the processes by which cells receive information. It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology, that instead DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our thoughts.

He demonstrates how the new science of Epigenetics is revolutionizing our understanding of the link between mind and matter and the profound effects it has on our personal lives and the collective life of our species.

[Note the title of the research article he shows on the slide at about the 40-minute mark — “behavioral epigenetics” — and compare that to the explanations given by the mythical Dr. Marta Shearing in The Bourne Legacy, and the functional thesis inherent in the collection of excerpts I have entitled “Summon The Magic” on how you can use your mind….]

How Meditation Can Reshape Our Brains

“It’s more like “body-mind plasticity” than “neuroplasticity” because it’s not just the brain. The body is a holistic system.

There are about 4 input channels: stomach e.g. for recycling RNA, small intestine e.g. for absorbing water-based nutrition, the colon e.g. for fermentation of solid waste by gut bacteria, and the lungs e.g. for the absorption of airborne nutrition. There are a couple of output channels: solid waste elimination, liquid waste elimination, skin (sweat), and the lungs.”

“… In my search for a different approach to the power of individual consciousness, I came upon the history of early Tibet, before the society hardened into a theocracy.

Several sources were particularly helpful. The work of author John Blofeld (The Tantric Mysticism of Tibet), the writings of the intrepid explorer, Alexandra David-Neel, and a quite unconventional healer, Richard Jenkins, with whom I worked in the early 1960s in New York.

Jenkins once wrote to me: “There are people who want to tell us what consciousness should perceive. They’re blind to the electric, alive, and free nature of awareness.

They’re wrapped up in content and addicted to it. Their biggest mistake is omitting the creative nature of human beings…”

That creative nature was the intense focus of the early Tibetans.

These practitioners, teachers, and students, some 1500 years ago, realized that most people viewed consciousness as an accumulator of knowledge. A searching tool, or a receiving apparatus.

Instead, the Tibetans embarked on a far more adventurous course.

Their many images (e.g., mandalas) weren’t meant as depictions of what finally exists in higher realms. Those realms were just as provisional and changeable as the physical world. You might call the multiple locales and dimensions representations of “what humans in certain Asian cultures would expect to encounter in their journeys of spirit.”

In other words, the Tibetans consciously treated their pantheons of gods and semi-gods as convincing illusions.

Several of their key exercises and techniques were all about having students mentally create these illusions in voluminous and meticulous detail. That was difficult enough, to be sure. Far more difficult was the next aspect of their practice: get rid of these creations.

Put them there; take them away.

The Tibetans were committed to living life on the level of imagination, with all that implied.

And what does it imply?

A new psychology. A psychology of unlimited possibility:

A person’s past, his history, his problems, his relationships are all framed against the wider context of what he can imagine and then invent, create, in the world.

Living through and by imagination long enough, the individual discovers that his prior relationships are transformed. They no longer set themselves up as questions or problems.

He is operating from a platform that affords an utterly different, original, and unexpected outcome.

A psychology of possibility not only looks forward to the future, it has a reason to do so. Bringing electricity back into life depends, initially, on viewing possibilities in the space of one’s own imagination.

It may strike you at this point that our current civilization is bent on lowering possibilities; and that is true. That is the psychology of the psyop.

There is a good reason for this programming, as well as the staging of events that seem to give the programming validity. Those who aim to control the destiny of humankind want to shrink the “size of humans.” That is their intent.

A psychology of possibility would reverse that trend and expose it…..”

The Evolution of Humanoid Robots Now Includes “a sense of self”

Thursday, March 19, 2015 13:49

(Before It’s News)

This is an update to the chronicle detailing the evolution of humanoid robots (with videos)

Nicholas West

Activist Post

In the age of computers, things evolve exponentially. In just a few generations robots have gone from a scientific fantasy, to a playful curiosity, to entering the battlefield to replace and/or augment their human counterparts.

We are already at the point where we have to consider what the next step of robotic evolution looks like. According to robotics engineers, it appears that at some point in the near future the next step could very well be whatever the next generation robot chooses for itself.

Just late last year it was posited that the humanoid robot was poised to take a leap from a mere facsimile of human behavior to one that futurists suggest will not only walk like a human, but will possess self awareness, as well as a full range of high-tech computational spectrum analysis and capabilities . . . and emotions.

That day has apparently now arrived.

The chronicle below charts the advancement from the rudimentary, through the downright creepy, and toward today where, according to the final video from New Scientist, we see that the new generation of iCub humanoid robot can in fact determine its own goals and exhibit emotional behavior and language skills that so far have been exclusively human.

So far, development in humanoid robots has been limited to their physicality. A level of advancement has now been achieved that it is leading to serious concern about the economic impact of humans being outsourced to robots for tasks as diverse as service, manufacturing, nursing, housework, yard maintenance and full-fledged agricultural duties. Some are predicting that robots of all types could fully replace humans by 2045. Artificial intelligence is now advancing to a point where a new type of brain can be offered to compliment the relatively menial tasks of modern-day robotics, hinting at the next stage of evolution.

It is typical of any science with military applications to evolve in a dual- or even multi-use fashion. For example, humanoid robots were initially advertised as a study in how to benefit those who have lost limbs; and, indeed, this has been a noted benefit. However, the real money — the black budget money — goes into applications which can be downright frightening.

Enter DARPA, which had already been working on its own projects, but through its Robotics Grand Challenge has spurred a huge influx of inventors looking to receive DARPA funding to offer the next generation of humanoids. The Challenge has been couched in the comforting language of “disaster response” research, but what is emerging seems to be capable of far more than that:

The primary goal of the DARPA Robotics Challenge program is to develop ground robotic capabilities to execute complex tasks in dangerous, degraded, human-engineered environments. The program will focus on robots that can utilize available human tools, ranging from hand tools to vehicles. The program aims to advance the key robotic technologies of supervised autonomy, mounted mobility, dismounted mobility, dexterity, strength, and platform endurance. Supervised autonomy will be developed to allow robot control by non-expert operators, to lower operator workload, and to allow effective operation despite low fidelity (low bandwidth, high latency, intermittent) communications. (Source)

From the task section:

The specific tasks are:

1) The robot will maneuver to a open frame utility vehicle, such as a John Deere Gator or a Polaris Ranger. The robot is to get into the driver’s seat and drive it to a specified location.

2) The robot is to get out of the vehicle, maneuver to a locked door, unlock it with a key, open the door, and go inside.

3) The robot will traverse a 100 meter, rubble strewn hallway.

4) At the end of the hallway, the robot will climb a ladder.

5) The robot will locate a pipe that is leaking a yellow-colored gas (non-toxic, non-corrosive). The robot will then identify a valve that will seal the pipe and actuate that valve, sealing the pipe.

6) The robot will locate a broken pump and replace it.

The robot will be teleoperated, at least at the supervisory level. DARPA will control the communications bandwidth and latency, in order to make the task more difficult and force higher levels of autonomous behavior. If necessary, this control over communications will be used to discriminate performance levels between competitors and select a winner.

[…]

The goal of this Grand Challenge is to create a humanoid robot that can operate in an environment built for people and use tools made for people. The specific challenge is built around an industrial disaster response.

The current array of robots designed over the last few years to match human capability demonstrate what is listed above, and then some:

PETMAN: An anthropomorphic robot designed for testing chemical protection clothing. Its range of motion allows it to balance, walk, crawl, and even climb stairs, while also having the ability to simulate human physiology such as sweating. (Source)

[A very large snip…. please read the entire article at the link, as it includes the fifteen videos totaling over 37 minutes, plus graphics and multiple links….]

It appears that all of the components are coming together which are leading to the possibility of a true terminator robot. And once these humanoid robots merge with fully autonomous intelligence, we will have witnessed the next stage of evolution toward the full Transhumanist dream of The Singularity – the moment when computer intelligence surpasses that of humans to such an extent that humans become practically redundant.

Robots already have transformed our human world and are rapidly evolving. If The Singularity is reached, in tandem with military funding and direction, we can expect the darker version of science fiction to rise above any notion of attaining human freedom and leisure on the backs of our machine counterparts.

I find it ironic that these sentient robots are only made so by injecting them with humanity. But we are continuously bombarded by the global elite with the message that humanity is the core problem. The fact is that robots are nothing without the boundless potential that resides within the human brain; nothing but a computer doing fancy tricks that imitates us. True, we have a long way to go to reach our full potential and mitigate our self-destructive tendencies, but a complete replacement of our species at this juncture appears to be short-sighted and is obviously artificial.

How much of this technology should be embraced, and how much rejected? Now is the time to set the boundaries….

“… It’s part of the vastly expanding operation aimed at the individual.

The “modern” position is, we’re all one great big group.

Rimbaud was just redoing Shelley. Dylan Thomas was adding a few exhibitionist touches to Shakespeare, who was aping Sophocles. Plato was mimicking generations of Egyptian high priests. Socrates was staging dialogues based on arguments between cave men.

And if we could climb into a time machine, we could travel back to the age of the Neanderthals and see that Neanderthals were stealing thoughts after listening to what ants and gorillas and cabbages were saying.

Yes, it’s all spiritual collectivism, and we’re melting down into one cosmic goo-glob, and it’s marvelous.

“It’s all information” is the code phrase. Ideas, thoughts, sentences, books; nothing is original, nothing is new; we all “share” information floating in the collective consciousness; the individual invents nothing.

The move to wipe out the entire concept of the individual and erase it from human consciousness is a propaganda op. It is far easier to wield control over a group.

It therefore comes down to the individual vs. the goo. So be it.

Actually, if anyone cares, “the people” is a convenient term for “every INDIVIDUAL.”

This has been lost in translation. It has been garbled, distorted, just as the proprietor of an old-fashioned carnival shell game distorts the audience’s perception with sleight of hand.

Are “the people” one group? Well, that’s the ultimate Globalist formulation.

However, from the point of view of the free individual, things are upside down. It is HIS power that is primary, not the monolithic corporate State’s…..

For several decades, the pseudo-discipline called “social science” had been turning out reams of studies and reports on tribes, societal groupings, and so-called classes of people. Groups.

Deeply embedded in the social sciences were psychological warfare specialists who, after World War 2, emerged with a new academic status and new field of study: mass communications.

Their objective? The broadcasting of messages that would, in accordance with political goals, provoke hostility or pacified acceptance in the masses.

Hostility channeled into support of new wars; acceptance of greater domestic government control.

Nowhere in these formulas was the individual protected. He was considered a wild card, a loose cannon, and he needed to be demeaned, made an outsider, and characterized as a criminal who opposed the needs of the collective.

Collective=robot minds welded into one mind…..

In the planned society, no one rises above the mass, except those men who run and operate and propagandize the mass.

In order to affect the illusion of individual success, as a kind of safety valve for the yearnings of millions of people, the cult of individual celebrity emerged. But even there, extraordinary tales of rise and then precipitous fall, glory and then humiliation, were and are presented as cautionary melodramas.

This could happen to you. You would be exposed. You would suffer the consequences. Let others take the fall. Keep your mind blank. Do nothing unusual. Shorten your attention span. Disable your own mental machinery. Then you’ll never be tempted to stand out from the mass.

The onrush of technocracy gears its wild promises to genetic manipulation, brain-machine interfaces, and other automatic downloads assuring “greater life.” No effort required. Plug in, and ascend to new heights.

Freedom? Independence? Old flickering dreams vicariously viewed on a screen.

Individual greatness, imagination, creative power? A sunken galleon loaded with treasure that, upon closer investigation, was never there to begin with.

The Plan is all that is important. The plan involves universal surveillance, in order to map the lives of billions of people, move by move, in order to design systems of control within which those billions live, day to day.

But the worst outcome of all is: the individual cannot even conceive of his own life and future in large terms. The individual responds to tighter and control with a shrug, as if to say, “What difference does it make?”….”

The Coming Age of Human Deconstruction

Arguing that the race to better humankind is about to go to a new dimension as a result of a nanotechnological revolution, this enthralling read purports that the depth of progress and technological development is such that people in the very near future may no longer be fully human. TransEvolution discusses the transition from human to someone—or something—new and different and the increasing trend of implementing prosthetics, organ implants, bionic eyes, hearing aids, and other technological augmentations.

Humans are capable of doing things they never imagined would be possible 20 years ago, and the rapid growth of this trend is nowhere near its end. But do the benefits of these advancements come with a price? Is humanity in danger because of this domination of science and technology? Bestselling author Daniel Estulin describes his vision of the future in which he believes the elite will employ their Promethean plans.
